Died on the 12th December 1940 Buried at Mere Knolls Cemetery, Sunderland Ward 25. A. Row 2. Grave 6648. Note: Sergeant W. Watson died in Birmingham when a bomb exploded during its removal. Lance Corporal F.W. Coyle, Driver T. Howard and Lieutenant G.A.W. Smith also died at this incident.
