The REA BD Branch was formed in 1946 as an Old Comrades Association, formed by the veterans of the Second World War.

In 1951 it was renamed the REA BD Branch and is part of the Royal Engineers Association. Membership is open to all serving and ex-serving, Regular or TA, from Sapper to Colonel, and we look forward to welcoming you into the branch.

The Branch has active links with the EOD Regiments, 33 Engineer Regiment EOD , 35 Engineer Regiment EOD,101 Engineer Regiment EOD, and 29 EOD & Search Group. Current membership exceeds 500 and our membership covers the globe and we help the members to reconnect with old comrades and keep updated on EOD deployments and developments.

Each year a contingent of the Branch represents the EOD at the annual service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London.

We firmly believe in the REA motto “Service not Self”
