Accidentally killed. Court of Inquiry on the 14 April 1941 was unable to proceed as an inquiry witness was in hospital. 29 April 1941 Court of Inquiry, findings were accident caused by handling an enemy bomb, some confusion as to the position of the bomb or mine, L/Sgt Baker and L/Cpl Elder were sent to investigate. L/Sgt Baker was given specific instructions not to touch the object. He disobeyed those orders and therefore is entirely to blame. He is currently in hospital suffering from the lose of a limb, German mine sweeping cutter.
