Son of John and Alice Mawdsley of Liverpool: Husband of Rose A Mawdsley of Aintree, Liverpool. Died on the 28th January 1945. Aged 37. Driver D.W. Evans and Corporal H.I. Temple also died at this incident. Buried at Uden War Cemetery. Grave 3.H.11. Uden War Cemetery. Netherlands.

    A mine exploded, causing a chain reaction of other explosives. Two others killed and material destroyed. It occurred in a field where ammunition was stored near Overlangel.
    Corporal H L Tempest, Driver D W Evans also died at this incident
