8th December 2017

 

 

It is with great sadness to inform you that we have received notification that Denis "Den" Green fiormer serving memeber of 39 Engr Regt, 33 EOD amongst various other units, was killed whilst on duty with Western Australia Police in a traffic accident.


Den joined the Army in 1986 and completed 22 years service before emigrating to Australia were he joined WA Police.

There is a community of ex Royal Engineers in Perth and we are all devastated by yesterday's events and rallying around Dens family, please raise a glass wherever you may be for this fine man.

 

18th Novemeber 2017

It is with great sadness to inform you that we  have received notification that one of our members REA BD Branch Leo Manning passed away on the 18 November.

 

Leo was born on the 27 July 1919. He served with 1 Malayan Bomb Disposal Company (very little was known about this unit, believe formed from Singapore Fortress RE) and was captured by the Japanese at the fall of Singapore.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Chris Harris. Chris formerly served with 101 (City of London) Engineer Regiment (EOD) and was recently rmarried in August 2017, was killed while working in Syria.

It with great sadness that we inform of the death of  Sapper Simon Keith "T" Tierney following a tragic accident. "T" will be missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him through the Worksop Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club, of which he was the founding member.

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Derek Greenow (former Chief Clerk of 583 EOD Squadron RE (V)), lost his long standing battle with cancer and died, at home, peacefully in his sleep
